Villa Nam Song: Room in the Lush Tropical Garden (Laos)

Just a short 3-4 hours journey from Vientiane, we have arrived in Vang Vieng, Central Laos. Vang Vieng is a riverside town surrounded by a scenic backdrop of karst landscape; and it is a great place for outdoor activities like caving, tubing, mountain biking and etc. Today, this small tourist oriented town is a backpacker hot spot and also well known as a party destination for the young travelers.

During our stopover in Vang Vieng, we stayed 2 nights with Villa Nam Song. This villa with picturesque views of the cliffs is tranquilly nestled in the lush tropical garden on the east banks of the Nam Song River. Villa Nam Song consists of 8 superior rooms and 8 garden deluxe rooms, which are surrounded by a beautiful garden setting and all rooms are just a few steps away from the Song river.

Garden Deluxe Room
The room we got was room no.16, a big, warm and clean Garden Deluxe Room. Our air-conditioned room featured a large double bed which was very comfortable and a side window bed; and the room was furnished with parquet flooring, cream colored walls and wooden furniture. Our room came with a veranda that had a view over the lush greenery garden, and this is a great spot to relax if you don't feel like hiding in your room. There are free coffee and tea, free 2 bottled of water per day and free toiletries in the room. And the other room facilities are en suite bathroom, writing table, ceiling fan, mosquito nets, mini fridge with bar items. There is free WIFI in all rooms and common areas. The housekeeping service was excellent as our room was immaculate on a daily basis.

La Verandah Restaurant
The buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and it is served at the riverside terrace restaurant La Verandah that comes with an excellent view of the mountains and the Nam Song river. The restaurant has a good selection of Lao, Thai and French dishes on their à la carte menu for lunch and dinner. Besides that, they also offer set menu for lunch and dinner (Lao or Continental). During our stay, we had tried their Lao set dinner prepared by their experienced cooks. All the dishes were very fresh, delicious and generous in portion size, especially their locally grown vegetables which was sweet, tasty and perfectly cooked. The overall quality of the foods was excellent and the staffs were very polite with a very positive attitude.
